Wyn Food Kiosk

Wynwood, Florida

In the Spring of 2016, the third year design students competed in a kiosk design competition to be located in Wynwood, Florida. The goal was to design a kiosk that could be easily torn down by two people and loaded onto a truck each day and night. Along with my colleague, we designed Wyn a sustainable kiosk made of lightweight material. To show how the kiosk works, we built a 1” = 1’-0” hand cut wood model with movable louvers complete with an exploded diagram. To meet the sustainability requirement, the walls are bamboo with stainless steel countertops, the structure is steel, wind like cutouts let in a natural breeze and the roof is entirely solar panels. This design won second place with a reward of $250.
