Hangtown Market & Culinary Institute

Wynwood is a lively neighborhood in Miami that is home to vintage retail shops, diverse bars, and art galleries housing all styles. This colorful hub is mostly known for the rehabilitation of old warehouses and turning them into creative business spaces. Our task was to take an old warehouse and turn it into a culinary school as well as a marketplace.  With Wynwood as our muse, each facade has elements related to the surrounding area such as walls similar to those of the Wynwood walls and a rooftop terrace. As part of the architecture curriculum, each student must take comprehensive studio where we learn about HVAC, plumbing, structure, life safety, ADA, and construction document analysis.
